Get Fit for Summer at Core Gymball

As the weather warms up, it is the perfect time to re-energise your fitness routine and enjoy exercise in the fresh air. Our Term 4 Get Fit for Summer program is designed to do just that. This 10-week program runs every Saturday morning from 8.00 to 9.00am at Buckle Reserve in Menai, making it an ideal way to kick off the weekend with movement, community, and fun. This years program will run from Saturday 11th October to 13th December.

Why Join?

The program is more than just a fitness class. Every session is designed and delivered by two experienced health professionals who bring both expertise and energy to the hour. You will experience a mix of games, balance challenges, strength activities, and cardio. The focus is on functional fitness, keeping you strong, mobile, and resilient, while having a genuinely enjoyable time.

Meet Your Trainers

Kate Dwyer

Kate has a degree in Exercise Physiology and a special interest in adult group fitness. She is known for her creative approach to exercise, incorporating games and team-based activities that make the class feel fun while delivering clear fitness benefits. Her sessions strike the balance between enjoyment and purpose, everything you do is designed to help improve your strength, endurance and confidence in movement.

Loretta Ascoli – Physiotherapist

This year, one of our Core Gymball physiotherapists, Loretta Ascoli, will be leading the program alongside Kate while Rachel is on maternity leave. Loretta brings her physiotherapy expertise to ensure the exercises are safe, adaptable, and tailored for a wide range of abilities. She provides the added reassurance that each session is grounded in evidence-based practice, with a focus on injury prevention and long-term health.

What to Expect

Each week builds variety into your training. Some sessions might include relay-style activities to get the heart rate up, others focus on balance and stability to challenge the smaller muscle groups, and some integrate functional strength work to support bone health and posture. The outdoor setting at Buckle Reserve adds to the atmosphere—fresh air, green space, and the energy of a supportive group all working towards the same goal.
