exercise during pregnancy? At no point in your life is general fitness more important than during pregnancy and childbirth. A sensible and well-supervised exercise program can benefit you in many ways. The health of your heart and blood vessels can be maintained or even improve during pregnancy. By developing your abdominal muscles and upper body strength you can improve your posture, working to overcome the forward pull of the babies weight. Lower back pain can be eased and prevented by maintaining good strength and mobility. The pelvic floor muscles can be strengthened and “little accidents” can be prevented. Current evidence shows that exercise is not only safe but beneficial during pregnancy. Not only will you feel better about yourself and be able to control unnecessary weight gain, but you will attain better movement and balance and cope better with the demands of labour. What is CORE gymball for Pregnancy? CORE gymball for Pregnancy classes are closely supervised exercise sessions run by an experienced physiotherapist. CORE gymball classes offer a great general strengthening program, which specifically targets abdominal, pelvic floor and back muscles. Our “core” refers to our deepest abdominal muscles, which support our spine. CORE gymball classes are designed to activate and strengthen our inner core muscles whilst at the same time working to strengthen our other muscles. The classes use gymballs, resistance bands, hand weights and medicine balls to provide a well-balanced workout. Having a strong “core” can aid in prevention of back and neck pain and improve our ability to perform everyday activities. |
